Deciding how to design and develop a new website can be challenging.
For most early stage entrepreneurs and small organisations, the website functionality you need is likely to be relatively straight forward e.g. simple pages (about, contact, services etc), and perhaps a blog, the ability to take appointment bookings or an online store.
In cases like these, using a platform like Wix can be the best option to get started online. There are definitely other platforms available, I have just been working with Wix for some time and really like how it works. You can find out more about why I use Wix here.
Wix offers you the option to set up your own site online. They make it as easy as possible for you to select your own templates, make all your own edits and publish your site. The DIY option is great for people with very limited budgets.
However, like learning any new system it can take a while to get your head around how to set up and manage your site in Wix, and not everyone has the time, patience or desire to spend hundreds of hours working out how to do everything themselves, that's where hiring a designer to help is a great idea. You can then takeover ongoing management of the site for day to day edits.
Check out the 3 site design packages available to see if any of those are the perfect fit for your current requirements. To launch your new site you will also need a domain, and you can find out more about registering domains here.
